Matèria is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Italian experimental photography pioneer Mario Cresci (Chiavari, 1942).
Through a selection of key vintage works and an extended selection from the series ‘Analogie e Memoria’ (1980), the solo presentation aims to showcase and synthesize Cresci’s eclectic practice, ranging from geometric experimentations from the late 1960’s at the intersection between graphic design and photography, to ethnographic studies conducted for over two decades in the Italian south, to the work produced and exhibited for Luigi Ghirri’s seminal exhibition ‘Viaggio in Italia’.
