Lesley Bodzy, Indelible sagacity, 2025. Latex, resin, acrylic pigments, 35 x 35 x 16 inches.
"The exhibition, Womanhood 102, is important because it reflects our current culture and gives space to something that affects all women. Society is amid a new wave of feminism. We are now in “fourth-wave feminism” which focuses on gender equality, intersectionality, and the empowerment of women. Compared to “second-wave feminism” which started in the 1960’s and focused on equality beyond suffrage, such as ending gender discrimination. By bringing together two artists from diverse backgrounds, different generations, and are representative of the different feminist movements, this exhibition sparks a conversation that branches out into literature, mainstream media, and to the viewers personal experience with womanhood, challenging them to change the narrative."
